Hi Doris:
May I suggest you request the period be designated for planning with
another teacher to develop integrated, technology infused, etc. etc.
lessons?

Another tack would be to volunteer to coach the Literary Magazine or Class
Newspaper where you could have kids read and write book reviews, news
articles, etc.

Third tack would be to work on the Library's web page resources for your
school.  Peter Milbury is your best mentor on this.
