I have been just informed by a media specialist of 35 years that in her district and in her region, there is no specific standard requiring a certain number of books per student. Is this the same situation in all other regions? Has this been one of those urban myths passed on by librarians? I appreciate all responses but supported facts will be of greatest use to me. I have read an article written in 1998 that states that some state accreditation requirements require so many books per student. I guess you can understand my confusion.
