Judging from several recent posts this summer there are more than a few folks out there who will be brand spanking new school librarians this fall. I was doing some research this morning and came across this nifty site called "So You Want to Be a School Media Specialist" at http://tln.lib.mi.us/~rtruxall/media/. It was developed by grad students at the Michigan School of Information in 1997, but many of the internal links have been updated, and it does have some handy information for the beginner. I especially like the "First Day" links...
