I have the Happy99 virus on one of my computers. I am sending this from a non-infected computer. I am sorry that I sent a message to listserve from other computer. I will not send another computer until the problem is fixed. I am using the most updated Norton Utility and it will not fix. I have gone to the Symtex (I believe) site and have gotten the directions for manually removing. Here is the problem: I have been able to do the first two steps: 1) delete WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SKA.EXE 2) delete WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SKA.DLL However I cannot do steps 3 & 4. (There is a note that you cannot do this if connected to the internet since if you are, Windows is using the DLL file). However, I am not connected to the internet and it still will not let me rename the files. 3) Rename WSOCK32.DLL TO WSOCK32.BAK 4) Rename WSOCK32.SKA TO WSOCK32.DLL 5) Delete the downloaded file, usually named HAPPY99.EXE If anyone has any further help I'd greatly appreciate it. Again, sorry for sending an infected message & I am not sending messages from that computer until the problem is fixed.
