Dear LM_NET Colleagues, A friendly reminder: All messages posted to LM_NET are protected by the copyright law. Please note that each an every message posted includes the following statement: All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law. We want to state very clearly: "There is NO permission given to use anything posted to LM_NET commercially." The reason that we are concerned is that we have recently been told that a certain library products vendor is circulating a printout of an old message posted to LM_NET (obtained from the LM_NET Archives) which points out alleged defects in a competitor's product. In the event that you are the recipient of such an abusive use of an LM_NET message, please remind the vendor that the message is not only outdated, but it also is protected under copyright law. Demand that they show you where they have permission to use the message as a sales weapon. We leave it up to you to decide if you are comfortable buying any product from a vendor that uses such unscrupulous techniques. Thank you for your support and cooperation with this situation.
