Dear Friends, I am teaching a course for other teachers in early August. We will = cover the ways in which we can reduce or eliminate plagerism. I have a = short list of recommendations but , I'm sure, many of you have even better = ideas. My list includes (1) defining the topic to include a comparison, = such as "Compare the fishing industry in the Mississippi River with that = of the Ohio River", (2) requiring students to hand in their rough draft = and copies of all sources cited several weeks before the paper is due, and = purchasing the software now available to locate plagerized materials on = the net. Can you add to my list? While this is not a problem at our school, = middle and high school teachers continue to struggle with this issue. Also, we will brainstorm ideas on how to manage a single computer in = the classroom. Any thoughts here? Many thanks!
