Barbara brings up some interesting points for discussion concerning
paraprofessionals and aides.  I believe that the tasks assigned to those
hired to be aides should not involve teaching responsibilities.  If your
state requires school library media specialists to have teaching
certificates/licenses than people hired to be library should not be
given any teaching responsibilities.  That demeans the value of
education of the professional.  The aide because the aide took the job
of library aide and not a professional position they agreed to the terms
of the contractual arrangement.
