I am sorry this hit took so long to send. I was away. Thank you for
all your help regarding books with an Olympic theme. Our vice-principal
was very grateful. I did not receive too many responses, but here they
are.

In the Lerner catalog is a book "Coubertin's Olympics - How the games
began" (page 121 in the '98-99 catalog) by Davida Kristy (1995) $17.95
Four review sources are listed, and an excerpt from one review is very
positive. The book is also available in paperback ($10.95). The grade
level indicated is 6 - 10, so it might be a book for the teacher to read
and share from. Follett probably also carries it.

Olympic Dream by Christopher.

All that comes to mind immediately is the book _Wilma_ about Wilma
Rudolph. I can't even remember who wrote it but it is recent in the last
year or two.

IBM sponsored the Olympics and might have something in this area as they
had special links for educators when the Olympics were going on.
