Dear LM_Netters:

Thank you so much for your wealth of information, expertise, and support!

The orginal TARGET requested information concerning circulation and
cataloging options for a small international school which runs on the MAC
platform without a card catalogue.

The responses were great and very much appreciated.

Connie Meredith from Henderson, KY wrote with praise for Winnebago and
suggested Follett.

Doug Macomber from San Bernardino, CA wrote with praise for Alexandria by
Compaion Corp with a great URL: http://www.companioncorp.com.

Gayle Hodur from Soledad, CA wrote with a concern about the foreign titles
and Winnebago; however it was suggested that for the English collection,
Winnebago was great. There were also great suggestions regarding the
resurrection of our card catalogue.

Alan Olson from Washington, IA wrote that Chancery's MacSchool has some
very good features, but they never looked at the library module. MacSchool
was described as complicated and needed time and training to learn
reasonably well. Winnebago was praised. It was suggested that G3 machines
would be needed for circulation.

Vicki Reutter from Cazenovia, NY suggested Alexandria by Companion
Corporation. Mandarin by SIRS was described as a struggle.

Joanne Ladewig of La Puente, CA wrote that Winnebago runs on MAC, but not
all the reports are available yet, although the Windows versions are...It
was also suggested to consider tech assistance including other world wide
companies, long distance calls, training, and checking the system via phone
connections. She also suggested trying other programs and asking for demos
and trying my hand at the various capacities.

Pat Elliott of Barrie, Ontario suggested considering Athena by Nichols
Advanced Technologies. The URL was http://www.nicholsinc.com

Again I would like to whole-heartedly thank each of the individuals that
shared information, time, and ideas.

Thanks again.

Have a great day.

Sincerely,

Shelley Burgstaller
