A teacher wants to know: When a manned spacecraft returns to earth there is generally a radio blackout of 2-3 minutes just before touchdown. What is this called, what causes it, and is there a certain layer of the earth's atmosphere that it is passing through. Thank you for your help. ************************************* Randall Dick Librarian Locust Grove Mennonite School 2257 Old Philadelphia Pike Smoketown, PA 17576 school: randyd@lgms.pvt.k12.pa.us home: rdick@lancnews.infi.net ************************************** =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
