The replacement for DAB is American National Biography from Oxford
University Press.  It is in 24 volumes and cost us about $2,000.00.  It
received excellent reviews.  We recieved it just last month so it has not
been used much yet but the biographies are detailed and they do a better job
of covering minorities and women.  Best of all, we don't have to use that
DAB index any more (with the confusing Roman and Arabic numerals while the
supplements have the numbers spelled out).

One of my most used reference sources has been the Webster's Dictionary
of American Biography.  It is now out of print. My question is can
anyone suggest a replacement title?
