Gen: Creative Writing ideas

I will be teaching a Creative Writing class this summer to students in
grades 7-10 who attend an area-wide Fine Arts Academy.  I am looking for
some new and interesting writing ideas that do not take "days" to do.  I
would like for the students to have the time to write several short
pieces in the areas of short story writing, poetry, and non-fiction
writing.  Any ideas you are willing to pass along would be greatly
appreciated.  Also if you know of any really interesting sites on the
Internet that we could visit during this class I would appreciate those
recommendations also.  TIA
