The following are the answers I received to my request for student leadership web sites. the March 1999 issue of Classroom Connect just came. There is a 2 page article on Character Education and one of the items is leadership. And connected with leadership are some web sites. 1. www.kyrene.k12.az.us/schools/brisas/sunda/great/great.htm 2. www.bham.wednet.edu/bio/biomaker.htm 3. www.geocities.com/~spanoudi/quote-03.html Found in my web search; Student leadership Program http://www.activeliving.ca/activeliving/cira/sldphomepage.html Student Organizations and leardership Development http://www.unomaha.edu/~wwwsold/leadership_tips.htm Leadership Development http:..www.uwm.edu/Dept/SOAR/Lead/Leader.html Youth in Action (organization for youth interested in social action and service projects http://www.mightymedia.com/youth/ Other possibilities listed; Talk to someone who is in Boy Scouts. They have an excellent training manual for the boys in the troop, for each position, like quartermaster, patrol leader, etc. Activities are included. I can offer the title of a book I am currently reading on leadership: The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John Maxwell. I don't have the book with me at school to see if he lists any web sites. My husband is the JROTC instructor here, and a big part of their curriculum centers on leadership. If you have a JROTC program, I would check with them. Debbie Stafford Gen. H.H.
