LAN Creation

I am in the process of creating a LAN for my school.  I will probably use shielded 
twisted pair cabling since it is
Ethernet.  Some of the workstations are 200 or more feet from the servers in the 
library.  Is there some kind of
device or repeater necessary for these sites?
