I don't know. In my last elementary position we had a very small collection. Even then the whole library was open to first graders in the last quarter who felf ready for the 'big' books and second graders on up. There was positive delight as they discovered the poetry and folklore sections. Of course I made sure that those sections had plenty of books that appealed to them <grin>. After all, if you have multiple copies of easy folklore and poetry (and other stuff), it's easy enough to give it the regular dewey classification and file it with the rest of the stuff.
