I realize what you meant in your post when you used “gifted children to special ed” as if it were a range. In actuality however, “gifted“ does not exclude the possiblilty of needing “special ed” I teach at a regional gifted center in Chicago where all of our students have been identified as gifted. We still have a special ed teacher, for we have children with various learning disabilities that require adaptations in our curriculum or in our expectations for these children.
