Come to the beautiful Northwest this August for a one-day Big6 workshop =
with Mike Eisenberg. This will be the only Big6 workshop offered in the =
Northwest this summer.

Workshop:  Implementing Information & Technology Literacy: the Big6 (tm) =
Skills Approach to Library Information Skills Instruction

Audience: K-12 teachers, administrators and media specialists -- teams of =
teachers / media specialists are encouraged

Presenter: Mike Eisenberg
Date: Tuesday, August 24
Time: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Location: Frontier Junior High / Evergreen School District / Vancouver, WA =
(across the Columbia River from Portland, Oregon)

The Big 6 (tm) is a way to help students of all ages learn and achieve in =
an information society. This workshop offers in-depth training in how to =
use and implement the Big6 (tm) skills. The Big6 (tm) goes beyond location =
and access to emphasize information seeking, use, synthesis, and evaluation=
. This workshop will move from developing Big6 (tm) understandings to =
systematic and practical methods of immediately implementing the Big6 in =
all settings, library, technology center, classroom and schoolwide. This =
is the only Big6 workshop being offered in the Northwest this summer. =
Teams of media specialists and administrators / teachers are encouraged to =
attend, with a discount in price being offered for building teams of three =
or more people. The Big6 approach is most widely implemented when several =
teachers and the media specialist team to teach and reinforce the Big6 =
skills.

Fee: $100     OR

$85/person for teams of 3 or more from the same building
