HS: Novels/Fiction with copyright date in 1970's

LM_Netters--

Help!

A couple of my English teachers have senior honors English classes,
and every year their students study a decade in this century.  One
thing they do is to read a novel that has an original copyright date
within that decade.  (I know, I know.....)  Anyway, these teachers
came to me today and asked for some suggestions of novels from the
70's, the top notch or thought-provoking novels that would be good for
their classes to use.

Do any of you have suggestions?  They requested that I have this info
to them by Friday morning, if possible.
