Even if Sarah's figures are correct, the "print before you think" syndrome is inexcusable, and I think a lot of us are fighting that. Kids who print before proofreading, hit "print" six times because it didn't spew forth immediately, or, like today, print a web file without investigating its size (104 pp!) drive us crazy. I'm trying to think of a way to put only recycled (abandoned print jobs) paper in one of our printers without people having a fit. It seems really hard to get a message to all members of our community, e-mail notwithstanding. If I could firmly announce to one and all ( and expect that they would get the message) that all workstations default to a printer with used paper, I wouldn't feel *as* bad about the tremendous waste I see daily. If they want clean paper to hand in a final copy they could opt for the other "clean paper" printer, but it would have to be deliberate. Has anyone tried something like this? Maureen S.
