HIT: Sustained silent reading

Several of you requested a HIT on my SSR request, so here it is.
Many recommended two books:
Stephen Krashen's "Power of Reading" and Jim Trelease's "Read Aloud
Handbook"
Several websites were also mentioned:

http://sea-css.ssd.k12wa.us/read/ssrmain.htm
http://www.lrs.org - this is the Colorado State Library research division
called Library Research Service.  Look for Fast Facts, select 1998.  They
publish the results of research appearing in articles.

Also it was recommended to check our archives.
