I received a mailing today from the TalkingTapes organization whose mission is to make audio tapes for use by learning disabled people. Their brochure listed many donors to their effort, individual as well as corporate, including IBM. Volunteer readers record textbooks, fiction books, etc. You can purchase them at $4/tape or rent them for the school year at $2/tape. That's a bargain but also consider some history books take 42 tapes--according to their on line catalog. When I called, I was assured that it was within the copyright law and I don't suppose IBM would be involved in something that wasn't.......BUT how does this work? Does anybody know anything about them?? Their website is http://www.talkingtapes.org. I'd appreciate any information. Thanks a bunch for your help.
