One of the Family and Consumer Science teachers came to me a few weeks =
ago with an ideas she had for a unit for one of her classes next fall. =
She would like them to look at the television family and how their =
portrayal has changed through the decades -- from shows like Father =
Knows Best with the nuclear family and the father being the source of =
all wisdom to current day shows that feature single parent or blended =
families, neither parent knows everything and the kids freely question =
the rules. She would like both print and web resources.

I think that the project could be very interesting, but I'm also very =
frustrated. Any web site I find that deals with one of the television =
shows she is considering really has very little information about the =
family values portrayed. They have a synopsis of the episodes, fan club =
information, etc., but nothing I can see that would be of value for the =
class. I am hoping some of you can help me.

Does anyone know of any website that deals with the portrayal of the =
family in television or film? Do any of you know of any good print =
resources?

TIA for any help you can give me.
