Here it is, folks. Many thanks to all the people who reminded me about
Capstone and the other resources.

One option would be to subscribe to BMX PLUS! and Four Wheeler
magazines. Your kids would go nuts over these. There would always be
something "new" for your little aficiondos, and after a short while you
would have more of a "collection" on the subject without a huge price tag.
I thumbed through a copy of each. It's ALL bikes and SUV trucks -- no
"dating info, 'babes,' zit medicine" etc. or any teenage stuff you might

We bought the Capstone set called Cruisin', and they're ALWAYS

them, although they're low reading level, and our 5th and 6th grade boys
wait in line for them. We also subscribe to Dirt Bike and Dirt Wheels
magazines - can't keep them around either!!!! Try the Capstone series -
I'll bet you'll be impressed. Good photos, easy text...we bought just a
few last year and hurried to fill in

Check the World Almanac catalog. They have several series that I can never
keep on the shelves. Great illustrations and not "too tough" a reading
level.

I have a Rourke series with Mountain Biking, Cycling & Motocross in my
collection. I think I recently purchased some others, but don't have my
order list at home. I know one is a cool encyclopedia of motor cycles thru
the ages. I expect that one will have a permanent life "on the road" and
