EOG Funds

LM_NETTERS,

My school (in North Carolina) has just received funds which must be used to
help students who have not passed the competency test (8th grade EOG).  Do
any of you have any materials, programs, staff development, etc. that you
know of which would be of benefit to these students?

Also, we have received funds which must be used only for staff development
to explore best teaching practices.  The pupose should be to help students
achieve grade level competency.  Do any of you know of any wonderful
speakers or programs which would be of benefit to our staff. We have had so
many poor staff development experiences that everyone has a negative outlook
when it comes to staff development.
