I agree with the review posted that this book gives an interesting perspective on the holocaust, and I would like to order it for my middle school library. However, this novel is quite intense, and the author describes graphically, although without sensationalism, some of the atrocities of this time period. I would recommend it to eighth graders with caution, but I believe my own son in seventh grade would be deeply disturbed by some of the events in this book.
