Notetaking seems to virtually a dead art in England. For this reason,
I am very ready to accept photocopies and printouts. What I do ask
for is that students submit them with their final work, so that it
can be seen how they have used the information they have gathered. I
also suggest that they highlight or underline the important facts in
the photocopies/printouts. The idea of this is to encourage them to
*think* in order to select. Copying is a real problem at my school
and others like it, where the majority of the students are not
particularly able.

I have only recently introduced the Big 6 into my school, and the
above is part of a whole push towards developing information literacy.
