Hi All,

I'm posting this from a New Zealand teacher librarian who has a daughter
attending U of M. They are planning a visit to Michigan this April and she
is interested in touring some of our school libraries. Here is her original
message to me to make it more clear what she's interested in. If there is
anyone in *lower* Lower Michigan, please reply to me and I'll forward your
e-mail to Merilyn. TIA!

About a yr ago we exchanged messages and I mentioned that we
were hoping to come over your way to see our daughter in Ann
Arbor. These plans are beginning to gel and we hope to be there in
April next year. I'll have some time to look round school libraries so
if you are still able, I'd like to take you up on the offer to put me in
touch with schools to visit - not just AA schools but around and
about. I'm particularly interested in schools which have any sort of
partnership with the local public library - or are serviced in any way
by their local public library - we're just beginning to explore that
here. I also note that 1999 AASL conference has a session entitled
Infromation processing skills: Michigan's plan for intergrating skills
into the curriculum; we're into this too, so meeting with some of the
people involved with this would be interesting.
Looking forward to hearing from you
