I realize that there's been some amount of debate surrounding the idea of posting THANK YOU'S to the list, so hopefully only those of you who participated in assisting me bothered to open this... I just couldn't let this drop without sending back a hearty and heartFELT THANK YOU for all of your input/opinions/advice regarding my situation. The general consensus was that I made the mistake of granting the teachers a 30 minute circulation time (which I realized pretty early on was a mistake). So, I've decided to drop a complimentary, seemingly innocent note in the teacher's boxes tomorrow stating that after "getting our feet wet" with circulation it is my observation that 20 minutes is a more appropriate amount of time for the activity. The note includes a thank you to teachers (and they'll know who they are) who assisted with guiding their students to the proper materials, mentioning that their "expertise is invaluable" :) That will hopefully inspire those who have "hightailed" to stay next time (if the shortened time doesn't already do that). I realize that this issue appears to have some basic solutions that I may have been able to come up with on my own, I guess I just needed the reassurance of you wonderful collegues to give me the courage to go ahead, and I can't thank you enough for suggesting tactful ways to communicate to teachers that the current set up is just "not cutting it"... I'm babbling again. Suffice it to say, many thanks gang :) HK Smith Elementary Media Specialist Avondale School District Oakland County, MI ac2091@wayne.edu =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
