Well, as the old saying goes, one person's trash is another person's treasure! Two years ago, I deaccessioned most of my filmstrip collection. Not thinking that anyone would want them, I posted a message on our friendly list serve. I was deluged by requests for my filmstrips! I composed a list and emailed it to respondents. I ended up placing most of them in various locations. Reasons for wanting them were various: lack of funds for the purchase of videos and video equipment, not liking the available video transfers from the filmstrip format, needing replacement parts which were no longer being manufactured. I saved our landfill space and made some people apparently very happy. I just sent the filmstrip and cassette and discarded the packaging.
