Our district head of maintenence would like the following answered if possible: We have a large population of yellow jackets in the valley this year. As many as 100 stings to students and staff so far. If we can locate the hive which can be in the ground, or a crack in a building, or etc we can spray the nest. There has been little success in finding the hives, they are attracted to colors, garbage - fresh and old, sweaty bodies, etc. We have tried traps purchased at coast to coast, and recently a suggestion to coat the inside of a 5gal bucket with molassas to attract and trap them to the sticky surface. We are looking for ways to trap or attract the bees to an area away from students. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. thank you in advance... c chuck finnigan ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ library/technology Central Elementary School 601 Talcott St Sedro Woolley, WA 98284 cfinnigan@swsd.wednet.edu http://www.swsd.wednet.edu/ct/lr.htm =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
