Dear LM-Net Members,

I have been looking in the LM_Net Archives and the school library sites on
the Internet to find a Rubric that assesses Library Research. The sixth
grade language arts teachers have planned a unit with me that introduces
the students to the resources in the library. The culminating project is
a short research project using all the skills we have taught the students.

I can find Rubrics that access computer skills and information skills;but,
not a document that JUST assesses the student's research skills (taking
notes, writing a bibliography etc.) and especially their behavior in the
library...for example ....do they search independently, use their time
wisely, etc. We really want that to be a part of the assessment and I
would like to look at an examples of this. I know there is someone "out
there" who uses Rubrics to assess the student's use of the library.

My plan is to adapt this rubric to EVERY research project that is done in
the library. I will post a hit.

Thanks in Advance,

Pat :-)
