This is the story of life in the Netherlands during the WWII German
occupation.  Twelve-year-old Pieter gets involved in working for the
resistance, first doing small things, then bigger.  The tension builds
as he becomes more involved. The author really shows how the
people learn that they can not trust anyone -- even their dearest
friends.  Pieter is aware of a traitor in the town and at the end finds
out who it is.  This 130 page book gives a feeling for the period
without using violence or horror - just tension.
