Can anyone recommend a good (preferably short) article on the importance of intellectual freedom/avoidance of censorship? I supervise several elmentary libraries that are run by instructional aides that are censoring materials to suit their own bias. In cleaning out the storeroom of one library last week, I discovered new books that had never been put in circulation. These included animal books (that mentioned mating) and books about children whose religious preference is not Christian (Jewish, Buddist,etc.). I would like to do a short inservice with the library clerks at our weekly meeting and would like a good article to share with them. Any help would be appreciated.
