Librarians without clerks/para's

I am interested in corresponding with librarians that do not have paid
assistants.  In Wichita Kansas at the Elementary level paid assistants
are a rare thing!  Sometimes I have parent volunteers, but never for
book fairs.  I have student helpers come in after lunch to put away
books.  I am curious how others do it.  I essentially have a five day
load crammed into the three days I am paid to work.
