Dear Colleagues, I'm sure others have encountered similar situations to this: Trying to = find a book that is interesting for an older student with very limited = reading abilities. Many of the books that are at the right reading level = are just to "babyish" and not interesting to an older student. =20 My particular situation is with a sixth-grade student with a first-or-secon= d grade reading ability. The special education teacher and I have checked = some sources, including hi-lo lists, but we haven't had a lot of success = yet. So, again I appeal to you. Do you know of any books that might work = in this situation? Cam Jansen might work, but may be too hard; Polk Street Kids may be = another possibility. Please offer suggestions if you can! I'll compile = ideas and post a hit. Thanks!
