URGENT-laptop and zip drive advice

Help, please!  In the process of developing a powerpoint presentation.
Starting out well, and then an accident slows me down.   I fell and
broke my ankle.  Here I am lying horizontal with a laptop, trying to
fiigure out if I can SAFELY hook up an Iomega 100 mg. zip to this IBM
thinkpad 770.  Has anyone done this?  I want to send the presentation in
to school on the zip to resave on a CD.  Thanks.
