OK Computer experts, I need help.

Our school has, for a long time, offered students free email through Netscape
on the school computers. Students log on to our server using their own
personal ID and were able to get their email from any computer in the school.
We found last year that if we upgraded our Netscape program to 4.0, we would
not be able to continue to do so. Our solution last year was to keep Netscape
3.0 on all of our computers.

This year, we purchased 30 IMacs for our library and will probably purchase 30
more for a computer center next year. The IMac will not let us load the 3.0
version, only 4.0 or higher. The maximum number of user profiles the Netscape
4.5 will allow is 5 per machine. We've tried several ways to "trick" the
computer into allowing multiple users on the same machine, but can't make it
work. Right now, our students are using Netscape 4.0 and are NOT able to use
their mail.

Does anyone know a way to allow all of our 1100 students to use any machine in
our school to check their mail using Netscape 4.0 or higher?

Subject: Target: FLIP-IT and information literacy

I am interested in starting a listserv for people to share ideas on
implementing FLIP-IT strategies into their curriculums. I love the
FLIP-IT model because it fits so well with multiple intelligence
theory, and is cyclical in its learning nature. It also integrates well
into the science arena, as it parallels much of the scientific
process.

If you would like to be a part of this type of listserv, please let me
know.

Thanks.
