Dear fellow librarians, What do you do with your fiction series books (for example the American Girl or Dear America books) which are written by different authors? Mine are currently shelved on the regular fiction shelves under the various authors' last name, but this has become increasingly cumbersome. Today, after once again having to go from Tripp to Schur to Shaw to Porter to show some of my students where the American Girl books were, I decided enough was enough. Something else has to be done. So, I'd like to take a poll here. Do you: 1) Have them on the regular fiction shelves under the authors' names? 2) Have them on the regular fiction shelves, but under the series name, with call numbers such as F AME or F DEA, so that all of them are shelved together? 3) Have them on shelves in a separate section devoted exclusively to series books? 4) Do something else I haven't thought of? I will be glad to post a hit when I get the answers collated. Thanks so much.
