Gen: "on order" material field in Winnebago

Hello, Have any of you added a material field in Winnebago for titles you
have on order?  My public library has their books which are on order in
their database and available for reserving the titles for their patrons.  I
would like to put the titles I have on order in Winnebago.  The service rep
at Winnebago suggested adding a new material type, assigning a bar code to
each title, and then changing the material type when the title arrives.  I
would appreciate any suggestions you have.  Thank you,
