TARGET: 3rd grade problem/solution books

I have a third grade teacher coming in this afternoon to look for books that
have a clear problem and solution.  He is modeling a lesson he saw done with
Heckedy Peg by Audrey Wood (the mother had to figure out which object was
which child).   He would like stories that are on the third grade level.  If
you have any suggestions I could share with him, please e-mail me.  TIA!
