TARGET: Librarians as tech coordinators

I am one of two librarians at Harpeth Hall School in Nashville, TN. We are
an independent school for girls in grades 5-12. Along with the technology
faculty and staff, we formed the Library and Information Services
Department several years ago, in part through the help of many of you who
responded to our cries for help and encouragement! The Director of the
Library (also the Upper School Librarian) is our department chair and
Technology Team leader. I am the Middle School librarian and coordinate
our new laptop initiative. We also have a technology integration
specialist and two technicians/network people as part of the Technology
Team.

We have a new Head of School, and find ourselves defending our vision once
again. She has asked us to compile a list of schools - she prefers
independent schools, but we aren't fussy - that have librarians who also
serve as technology coordinators or directors. We also welcome information
from those librarians/media specialists who work as part of a technology
team. Any information and encouragement is welcome.
