Re: Fantasy fiction for middle school

I'd flike first to second the suggestion of Kenneth Oppel's Silverwing.
I read it this summer and was entralled.  Reminded me a bit of Watership
Down, though shorter.  I can't wait for the sequel!

        Mollie Hunter -- The Stronghold et al.
        Tamora Pierce (light but fun)
