Banned Books Week

I am surprised, too, at the lack of discussion.  I have put up my own little
display in the foyer in front of the LMC.  (I am located right at the
entrance of our building.)  I have a CAUTION banner, lists of challenged
books, and a feature of the most banned books of 1998.  I also have quotes
from Goethe to Groucho (Marx) about books and book challenges.  I am also
displaying books that have been challenged and banned.

The most exciting thing is that I am now going into the classrooms to
explain why a book is challenged or banned, what procedure is followed in
our area if a book is challenged, etc.  I am expecting a lot of discussion.
