GEN: Banned Books Week

For Banned and Challenged Books Week, I displayed those books in our
windowed display case.  I covered the window with black paper with six to
seven small squares cut out of the paper.  Students and staff have to peek
through the squares to see into the display case.

I also had written announcements for the week to be read each morning.  I
used the First Amendment as the first announcement and had other quotations
which I pulled from ALA's website.

How appropo that on Wednesday my announcements were discontinued, censored
if you will, because our administration didn't wish to stir up to much "free
thinking" among the students.

And life goes on...
