Thanks to all who responded -- good, thorough help. There were many pros
and cons for ProQuest, Electric Library and other dbs-- ELibrary was
recommended most often. Some comments:

Favorites
Wilson Select (can read summary before going to Ftext); extensive per.base
Elibrary - ease of use; graphics
        Rockford IL

ELib - all Ftext, home access, cheaper than ProQ
SIRS -- all Ftext, easy to search; limited in scope but covers all
assignments
        Livingston CA

ELib -- 500+ magazines, 45 overlap with ProQ
        Inman KS

ELib -- easy to use; complements ProQ
        Goose Lake, IA

ELib-- student choice. EBSCOHost also recommended -- ease of use, good
selection
        Oswego IL

ELib -- friend got degree using it
        Clarksville TN

ELib -- students use a lot -- ease of use; ProQ more professional journals,
search engine a bit more sloppy, requires savvy, but she likes it

ProQ -- better for research, especially advanced option
        Iowa

ELib -- dropped ProQ (too many irrelevant hits). 100% Ftext; students
picked Elib
        Albuquerque

ELIb -- easy to use, plus maps, pictures, transcripts
        Hudson Falls NY

ProQ -- duplicated service from SIRS, EBSCO, just use ProQ now. Teachers
email students copies of articles direct.

Infotrac - ProQ too hit and miss; local FL Univ. uses ProQ
        Tampa Bay FL

ProQ -- hits more relevant than ELib (mediocre encylopedia hits)
        Horsham PA

ProQ - user friendly, service excellent. Students unimpressed by ELib.
        NC

ProQ - have both it and ELib; like them both, but many colleges using ProQ
        new Carlisle OH

ProQ - have Infotrac and ELib too. Good full page image with ProQ
                Rochester NY

My student evaluators split 50/50 on ProQ and ELib here in Hockessin DE.

Hope this helps all those other folks who were interested. If you want more
details on the responses, e-mail me
