Dear LM_Netters: I had some useful responses to my query about finding good books on World War I. So, I decided to post a hit of responses FYI. ************ Do a search on Amazon. You can use it just like books in print. You can also try the library congress, but you will get lots of books out of print. I don't know if this can help you... try this site: http://www.collinseducation.com Hi - just flipping through Grolier's catalog this AM, and they have a set on WWI specifically. I have a series purchased from Grolier which the students use. Grolier has an Encyclopedia of WWI You're right, there doesn't seem to be much. However, I do have 1 called First World War by John D. Clare, Editor. published by harcourt Brace and Comnpany, 0152000879 and 1 called World War I by Tom McGowen. published by Watts 053120149X Have you tried War Game by Michael Foreman. It is a picture book, but it is very powerful and based on a true event during WWI. Hello. I'd Suggest these titles: The First World War: A Complete History by Martin Gilbert ISBN: 0-8050-1540-X, as well as Jay Winter and Blaine Baggett's The Great War and the Shaping of the 20th Century, ISBN:0-670-87119-2. The American Heritage World War I book is still quite good. Try the website entitled "Trenches on the Web". http://www.worldwar1.com/ It's a wonderful site all about World War I. Anyway, there is a section of book reviews. It provides journal titles, book reviews, and many other links. It's by far the best web site out there on World War I and I'm sure you'll find some good titles there. ___________________________ Judy L. Meadows K-12 Librarian Verona R-7 School District 101 E.
