Fellow LM_NETters,

Earlier this school year there was a posting requesting volunteers to go to
Zimbabwe this summer. I am almost the only member of LM_Net in my county and
often send the others' postings that might interest them...I sent this one
around as sort of a joke, "Who wants to spend their summer this way!" Well,
the joke was on me...I'm volunteering!

This is a request for your help. I am volunteering with The World Library
Partnership, a non profit organization in their Inform the World program.
That means, as an Inform the World volunteer, I will spend one month living
and working in Africa. Together with my Zimbabwean counterpart, I will
complete practical projects to improve rural libraries and ensure that they
will enrich generations of readers.

Zimbabwe is in the midst of an "information famine", YOU can help in one of
two ways:
        *Go to their website http://rtpnet.org/wlp/
*Thanks to the PEOPLink Affinity program, you can sponsor a volunteer in
rural Zimbabwe by purchasing quality crafts on the Internet. PEOPLink is a
on-profit organization that helps artisans from around the world improve
their lives by selling their beautiful crafts. They have a fabulous online
catalog with hand-made products at good prices. The Affiliates program will
donate 30% of all purchases made by WLP supporters during the month of APRIL
to WLP's Inform the World Scholarship's General fund. Their link is found on
WLP's website http://rtpnet.org/wlp/

As far as I know, (and I've asked)I am the only LM_netter in the group!

Thanks for all of your help, and wish me luck:-)!
