Rinaldi, Ann._Amelia's war,_1999 [0-590-11744-0] This is the story of Amelia, a young lady who lived in Hagerstown during the Civil War. One gets a good feeling for what it must have been like to live in a town that's control went constantly back and forth between the North and South. Neighbors and friends were sympathizers of both sides. This 264 page book is a little lower reading level than Rinaldi's usual books and as a result will have a larger audience. There are the usual historical notes at the end of the book. *************** Frederick Muller Halsted Middle School Library 59 Halsted Street Newton, NJ 07860 voice (973) 383-7440 ext 228 FAX (973) 383-7432 My book reviews are compiled at: http://www.halsted.org/br.htm My personal web site is: http://users.tellurian.net/fmuller =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
