Dear All, A fourth grade student is positive he saw some information citing a recent discovery indicating that the Amazon River is the longest river in the world, not the Nile. I checked the World Almanac 2000 and also National Geographic online. They both still say the Nile.I also tried Nova's website. My suspicion is that he must have seen this information on a PBS program. I think this is a great lesson in how information changes - and if he is right - the delays in getting facts into reference sources and books. In the meantime, does this ring a bell? Thank you, brilliant LM Netters!
