I held a bookswap for National Library Week last week and one book about death was brought in. I like it so much I'm going to try to get a hardcover copy for our library. Thought you might like to know of it also. It may be a lovely memorial book, but certainly is a likely candidate for elementary (and highter) collections needing more help with the theme. _Lifetimes: A beautiful way to explain death to children_ by Bryan Mellonie and Robert Ingpen. Bantam Books, 1983. It discusses the lifetimes of trees, plants, rabbits, butterflies and mice, and people. From the ending: "...no matter how long they are, or how short, lifetimes are really all the same. They have beginnings, and endings, and there is living in between." +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+ Marcia Dressel, Library Media Specialist Osceola Elementary/Intermediate Schools PO Box 128, 250 Tenth Ave E Osceola, WI USA 54020 dressel@oz.osceola.k12.wi.us +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
